Ministry Experience Scheme (MES) Internship
Christ Church Winchester | September 2026 – July 2027
Are you exploring what God might be calling you to next?
The Ministry Experience Scheme (MES) is a one-year, immersive opportunity to live, serve and grow within a thriving Anglican church, while discerning a call to ministry. Based at Christ Church Winchester, you’ll step into a dynamic and wide-ranging ministry environment with real responsibility from the outset.
This isn’t a token internship. You’ll be part of a church engaging weekly with over 200 children and young people, including four residentials each year, and a schools ministry reaching more than 4,000 primary-aged children multiple times annually. You’ll gain hands-on experience in youth and children’s ministry, student work, Alpha, Sunday services and pastoral care — with opportunities to lead, speak and develop your gifts.
Alongside practical ministry, you’ll receive weekly theological training, mentoring and space for reflection, helping you grow in confidence, character and conviction.
Accommodation and food is provided by a local host family, and the scheme is designed to be financially accessible. It’s ideal for anyone ages 18–29 who is either considering a career in ministry, or simply wanting a year of intentional growth and service in a thriving church.
