As a church, we believe God is calling us to be a flourishing and generous regional centre of Christian worship, mission and discipleship.

Let’s break that down into bite-sized chunks

  • Flourishing

    This is a great Biblical word for growth and health. Yes we want to be growing numerically, but we want to grow life-long disciples of Jesus, not statistics!

  • Generous

    We have so much to be thankful for and our prayer is that God teaches us even more to be generous with people, resources, time and finance.

  • Regional

    Like the Minsters of old, to be a regional centre for training, imagination, leadership and ministerial support - as well as equipping and sending out mission partners.

  • Christian

    We’d hope it’s obvious but it needs to be said! We are distinct. We’re not ashamed. We are disciples of Jesus, energised by His Spirit, loved by God the Father.

  • Worship

    This is our first calling, to respond to our God of grace and love, recognise his majesty and holiness and pray together, ‘your kingdom come!’

  • Mission

    We know the world is changing, but God hasn’t, nor has every person’s need for grace. With hope in Christ, with prayerful courage, with love for all people, we share the good news, in deed and word, locally and globally.

  • Discipleship

    We don’t want to stay in the shallows. We need the love of Christ to turn us inside out. We want to learn to use our gifts, simultaneously challenged and liberated at the same time.

We are a Church of England church with orthodox Anglican beliefs subscribing to the historical creeds which speak of our belief in God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

We subscribe to the 39 Articles with their reminders of the great Reformation principles of ‘Christ Alone, Scripture Alone, Faith Alone.’

We are a member of the Evangelical Alliance and we subscribe to their Basis of Faith.
