Humans are story creatures, which is why we love the parables of Jesus, the testimonies of friends and the beautiful narrative of scripture. On this page, we are sharing stories of transformed lives from Christ Church Winchester.
Emily’s Story
Emily became a Christian at home during lockdown having realised that life seemed purposeless without there being something more. Her faith has deepened hugely since coming to university in Winchester and joining our student community.
Azamat’s Story
Azamat was tired of striving for success and found the atheist view of life to be meaningless. He explored the person of Jesus and found faith.
Sophie’s Story
Sophie walked down the stairs one day and decided to come to church. She has found more than just a community, she’s found a God who loves her and died so that he could know her.
Sammy’s Story
Sammy was invited to church by friends and was astounded by the love and support she got from her church family and the difference that God made to her life.

Mallory’s Story
Mallory tried church when she came to university and was surprised by God at a worship event, where he filled her with a newfound joy and peace amidst anxiety.
Kit’s Story
Kit lived with Christians in their second year of university who invited them along to Alpha. They loved Alpha and gave their life to Jesus at a church service soon afterwards.
Kate’s Story
Kate’s only experience of church was pews and Christingles, so when she was invited to church at university she was surprised by the community that she found!
Charlie and Pete’s Story
We believe that discovering Jesus can change lives. Charlie had followed us on Instagram years ago, so when we advertised Alpha she came along with Pete and they both found faith.

During Lent 2022 we explored the tricky topic of unanswered prayer. We are so grateful to those below who shared their stories of faith in times where God felt absent.
Liz lost her husband whilst her children were still young and describes walking with God through this hard time with the help of her church community.
Abi and Ben struggled for a long time to get pregnant and open up about how they wrestled with God’s ‘silence’ through that season of their lives.
Lindsey and Dave’s son died whilst he was a teenager and they powerfully describe how they raged against God in the aftermath of that tragic event.
Kaitelyn’s Story
Kaitelyn found faith through an Alpha Course, and in this video shares how her life has been changed by Jesus.
Peter’s Story
Peter Winfield was a beloved member of our church congregation who we were lucky enough to interview a few years ago before his death recently. He shares about how he came to faith and his life as a Christian believer.
Kerry’s Story
Kerry discovered who Jesus was after stumbling into a chapel on a holiday with the Mothers’ Union. She shares her story of faith, overcoming a difficult childhood and illness as an adult.
Charlie’s Story
Charlie met a Christian in the queue to the Student Union during Freshers Week and was invited to try Christian Union and Church. Since then he’s discovered Jesus and went on a missions trip that allowed him to exercise his newfound faith.
