Like waiting for a friend at the train station who’s coming to stay with you for a few days – you know you’re going to have a great time together; anything is possible. Waiting and expectation has been our theme at church this Advent and we will continue that theme through the carol services and into Christmas Day, when we celebrate the waiting being complete.
But as we wait for Christmas, what are we waiting for? In the waiting, anything is possible. Do we believe that about God? As we wait to celebrate the birth of His Son, what do we expect? Are you waiting for God to arrive in your life, to do something that is seemingly impossible?
This season, may you know the truth of the Angel’s proclamation to Mary: “Nothing, you see, is impossible with God.” (Luke 1:37)
