John 1:1-18 summarizes the end of one part of God's story and the beginning of another. It bridges the Old and New Testaments and explains that although God's people had been expecting the Messiah and the end of the story, Jesus was not the end, but rather the beginning of something else - another part of God's story was about to begin.

September starts on Sunday, and I wonder what this new year brings for you? Are you beginning something? I'm starting Ordination training at St Mellitus College in London - I'm going back to studying having left Uni 10 years ago. I know several of you are starting new jobs, moving house, wondering what the year will hold.
