With the main campus of University of Winchester just a stone’s throw away, and the Winchester School of Art in the city centre, we at Christ Church want to give students a very warm welcome.
To help equip students to live a life for Christ on the campus, we run a number of events specifically for the 70 or so students who come here regularly.
Student Lunches
Wednesday lunchtimes 12.30 - 2.00pm. Yes that's right, a free lunch! And a playstation! And table tennis! Come have some fun and relax! It's also a great opportunity to introduce non-Christian friends to the church with absolutely no structured programme.
EAT is the student community at Christ Church. We meet every Thursday evening in term time to EAT and study God's word together. It's a great opportunity to get to know other Christian students over a decent, hot meal and to go deep in your faith.
One–to–Ones
As a student team we are committed to helping students through their time at university so we offer one-to-ones with anyone who wants one. If you want to get to grips with the challenges of what it really means to be a disciple of Jesus then we would love to meet up with you, to read the Bible, pray and encourage you in your Christian life. Host Families
If you want a break from the student ghetto, and a chance to relax with a family over a home-cooked Sunday lunch, then sign up for a host family. We have some great families in the congregation who would love to get to know you by having you round.
Alpha for Students
If you have questions about the meaning of life, who Jesus is or what Christianity is all about, then an Alpha course might be right for you. This is a course that is designed specifically for students to explore issues and ask questions in a relaxed and informal atmosphere over a delicious cooked meal.
Christ Church, in conjunction with the University of Winchester Christian Union and other churches in Winchester, puts on an Alpha for Students course on campus. This currently meets on Thursday evenings in the first two terms of each academic year.
